With her gift, Mary Lou Stricklin created a Room for Reflection in CSU’s Center for Innovation in Medical Professions (CIMP).
Stricklin, chair of the School of Nursing Visiting Committee, is the retired CEO and president of Cleveland’s Visiting Nurse Association. The Bay Village resident has long been an advocate, practitioner and teacher of wellness techniques such as guided imagery and meditation.
The Room for Reflection, located on the third floor of CIMP, provides a quiet space for students, faculty and staff to take a mental break during their hectic days. Comfy chairs are equipped with headphones and iPads offering music and guided imagery narrated by Stricklin.
Stricklin established the room in memory of her late husbands, James L. Stricklin and James J. Branagan, both of whom used guided imagery and other reflection methods to help cope with serious illness.
