Dr. Beth Sersig and Dr. Christopher P. Brandt created the Sersig/Brandt Family Student Health and Wellness Endowment to provide resources for CSU's Health and Wellness Services Center.
The funds will be used to enhance student wellness programming and outreach.
Two-time alumna Dr. Sersig, BS ’79/MS ’80, received a medical degree from Case Western Reserve University in 1984. She is a staff physician and director of women’s health services at CWRU’s University Health Center. She received CSU’s Distinguished Alumni Award in 2011. At CSU, she was the first winner of the biology department’s Doretta Thielker Award as top graduating senior. Her husband, Dr. Brandt, chairs the Department of Surgery at the MetroHealth System.
Several years ago the couple established the Sersig/Brandt Family Endowed Scholarship for CSU students studying a health-related field.
